Petham School Visit to Kent Mountain Centre

June 2006

Diary

19 June. All children are absolutely fine - no tears! Loved mountain climbing - Tryfan - 915m. Lousy weather.

21 June. The years 6's went gorge scrambling in harnesses! Very exciting! The year 5's went mountaineering.

"This is the best year 6 outing ever." - Robyn.
"The children are fantastic." - Mrs Waters.

22 June. Eaten alive by midges. Weather improving. The instructors are great fun.
Year 6s went canoeing and orienteering; year 5s rock climbing and raft building.
All children have just the right clothing.

Everyone has been very positive and Mrs Waters has been impressed with the kindness and helpfulness they have shown to each other. Weather has been foul, lots of rain.She is very stiff from the uphill treks.
